The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is a State Corporation established as a Uniformed and Disciplined Service by the Wildlife (Conservation and Management) Act of 1989 (now repealed and replaced by the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act No. 47 of 2013).

The Service’s overarching goal is to preserve and oversee the nation’s national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and animals while enforcing relevant laws and regulations. In addition, the Service supports other National Security Agencies in their efforts to combat insecurity and counterterrorism by managing and safeguarding significant and vital water catchment regions.
The KWS Service works in a remote environment and is looking to hire 1,350 young, energetic people as Rangers who can withstand the requirements for training and deployment to different conservation areas in response to the challenges facing the nation’s wildlife protection in a phased manner as follows:
Open Positions and Description:
1. Rangers – 1,350 POSTS
Requirements:
- Possess Kenyan citizenship;
- Possess a passport or National Identity Card for Kenya;
- Hail from the recruiting county;
- Hold a least mean grade of “D” (Plain) from an examination body recognized in Kenya for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent;
- Be between the ages of 18 and 26;
- Maintain good physical and health;
- Possess no criminal history; and
- Upon successful completion of a six-month paramilitary training program, selected individuals will be deployed to the field.

1. Get the application form for free from the nearest KWS National Park Station or download it from the KWS website at www.kws.go.ke.
2. Fill out the application as instructed;
3. Attach copies of your relevant academic and professional qualifications, references, passport or National ID card, and a comprehensive résumé detailing your work experience, current pay, employer, and the names and contact details of a minimum of two (2) references;
4. Mail the completed application to the address below, along with any attachments.
