KVTC was established in 1992 and is one of the most innovative forest management projects in Africa, bringing a wide range of social, economic and environmental benefits to a remote area of Tanzania.

To enhance this status and improve its performance, KVTC is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Stores Supervisor (SS).

Open Positions and Description:

1. Stores Supervisor (SS) – 1 POST

The Stores Supervisor’s overarching goal is to support the Finance Manager in upholding discipline, internal controls, and store supplies in the finance division as well as in other areas, such as procurement.

The Stores Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding the day-to-day operations, employee schedules, and assignments related to inventory control, material and tool distribution, and storage.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employs, trains, and conducts interviews with clerks, stockers, and other retail employees.
  • oversees the department’s daily operations.
  • Assigns tasks and projects to employees in order to guarantee the accurate and safe completion of deadlines.
  • Conducts constructive and timely performance evaluations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures materials are unloaded, stored, and verified in accordance with policy. Manages the receipt and verification of incoming shipments.
  • Makes certain that, in compliance with established protocols, a precise inventory record of completed goods is kept.
  • Keeps thorough records of all available products and their storage locations; ensures that incoming shipments and finished goods are stored in an organized manner.
  • Carries out thorough checks on a monthly minimum, random checks every week, and routine inventory checks every other week.
  • Notifies manager of inventory review findings and works with manager to arrange upcoming shipments.
  • Assigns employees to complete customer orders; after orders are completed, the inventory information is maintained.
  • Carries out additional relevant tasks as given.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Outstanding ability to communicate verbally.
  • Strong leadership and supervision abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the policies and processes of the stores.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizing abilities.
  • The capacity to maintain correct records.
  • Competent with inventory management software and the Microsoft Office Suite, or other similar programs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Self-starter and extremely driven person
  • Able to collaborate with a diversified workforce in remote locations
  • Two years or more of experience in a comparable role and setting.
  • Familiarity with material management and retail
  • Proficiency in Electronic Accounting Systems
  • A relevant college degree in the management of materials and stores
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and fluency in both Kiswahili and English

SALARY AND BENEFITS: KVTC will pay a competitive salary based on skills and experience.

The Stores Supervisor (SS) reports to the Finance Manager (FiM), KVTC, duty station – Mavimba, Ulanga District, Morogoro Region.
