Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC)
Leading and supporting LHRC People & Culture strategic objectives is the main goal of this role in order to help the organization accomplish its goals and produce strategic results. The People & Culture Manager, who reports to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with the LHRC Management Team, is expected to lead and oversee an efficient human resources department to support employee lifecycle management, effectively develop the organization’s people and culture capability, and support broader organizational and strategic management as a member of the LHRC Management team.
Additionally, s/he will be in charge of empowering initiatives that help people exercise their right to free and informed consent over human rights and have an impact on how those rights are protected. They will advocate for the development of robust accountability connections between duty bearers—those charged with upholding human rights—and the people and communities who are entitled to legal assistance, support, and knowledge—or litigation—in order to obtain justice.
Additionally, the job plays a crucial role in promoting the organizational culture and values and making sure they are acknowledged, ingrained, and maintained.
Open Positions and Description:
1. Director of Empowerment and Accountability – 1 POST
Responsibility
- Programs should be started and goals should be specified in accordance with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Schedule the programs beginning and ending with dates, objectives, and procedures.
- Create and/or approve the operations and budget for the directorate.
- Create assessment plans to track performance and identify areas that want improvement.
- Oversee all project and program managers involved to offer guidance and find solutions to challenging issues.
- Find strategies to improve people’s and processes’ productivity and efficiency.
- When necessary, put the concepts of resource, risk, and change management to use.
- Verify that program operations and activities follow internal policies and legal requirements.
Experience
- Law bachelor (LLB)
- A master’s degree in any relevant discipline, but ideally in business administration, project management, leadership, or governance.
- Certification in project management or any other relevant skills.
- Ten years of professional experience in human rights or similar grassroots initiatives.
- Self-driven, with the capacity to organize, set priorities, and solve problems on their own.
