As a Senior Project Associate, you will be directly supervising the Program Coordinator in Dar es Salaam and working under the general direction of the Chief of Mission in Dar es Salaam. Your primary responsibility will be to improve the protection of VoTs in Tanzania by offering comprehensive services. The role will play a crucial role in promoting effective communication with government agencies, important stakeholders, and Implementing Partners, hence facilitating the alignment and progression of project goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Help in the project’s organizing, coordinating, carrying out, and overseeing of its activities.
  • Compile, condense, evaluate, and display information/data on particular project subjects, emphasizing important points for the relevant stakeholders to take into account.
  • Keep an eye on how the budget is being implemented and make any required changes.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the administrative coordination of the project’s implementation, coordinating closely with various organizational units and outside partners to start requests, get approvals when needed, monitor administrative actions, etc.
  • Create draft status reports that highlight delivery deficiencies, draw the supervisor’s attention to them, and provide solutions.
  • Prepare and update reports, briefing notes, illustrations, statistical tables, and other types of documentation; draft communications on project-related matters.
  • Prepare training materials, lead capacity-building workshops, and schedule meetings, workshops, and training sessions.

Qualifications:

  • A graduation from school plus six years of related experience OR
  • A bachelor’s degree from an authorized university in the political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law, or a similar discipline plus four years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience communicating with national and international organizations, governmental bodies, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental groups;
  • Working knowledge of vulnerable populations such as internally displaced people, migrants, refugees, victims of human trafficking,
  • An advantage is previous job experience in a multicultural environment with non-governmental, government, or international humanitarian organizations.
