Responsibilities:
- Positioning and strategic leadership: You will be the engine of our energy portfolio, making sure that it is in line with SNV’s global strategy for well-coordinated and significant initiatives. Leading cooperation with the government, donors, and important stakeholders would be required for this.
- Project management and sector expertise: By drawing on your extensive knowledge of the energy industry, you’ll be able to offer insightful commentary on the industry and the nation while skillfully overseeing consortium partners and subcontractors to guarantee project success.
- Champion of innovation: You’ll build on SNV’s rich history of innovation by investigating novel strategies. This include converting diesel mini-grids to solar power, incorporating renewable energy sources into unstable grid regions, producing charcoal to produce carbon credits, and encouraging solar-powered agricultural cooling systems.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in international development, energy, or a similar field, or its equivalent.
- Experience in developing the energy sector (8+ years): extensive background in the growth of the energy sector, with a focus on renewables and mitigating climate change.
- Ability to lead and manage projects: Exhibited ability to lead programs, manage projects, and provide policy advice. This included directing a variety of energy sector initiatives and smart national strategies.
- Expertise in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (M&E): Applying M&E platforms, tackling large-scale monitoring obstacles, and analyzing best practices in M&E and learning.
- Strong interpersonal and business development abilities, as well as the ability to cultivate partnerships and contributors, are prerequisites for this position.
- Private sector engagement & SME de-risking experience: Experience in engaging the private sector and de-risking for small and medium-sized firms (SMEs).
- Experience with cutting-edge financing methods: Knowledge of cutting-edge funding strategies like carbon.
