In accordance with cooperative principles and practices, Tobacco Cooperative Joint Enterprises Limited (TCJE) was created as a joint enterprise under the Cooperative Societies Act No. 6 of 2013 with the aim of supporting members’ economic interests in areas such as tobacco marketing, agricultural supplies, and all other matters pertaining to the development of tobacco in the affiliated secondary societies.
In this regard, Tobacco Cooperative Joint Enterprises operations have particularly grown, and the company is currently accepting applications from competent candidates to fill the following open positions:
The General Manager will get reports from the selected candidate. By applying a methodical and disciplined approach to the efficacy of risk management, control, and governance systems, the candidate will be expected to provide value and enhance our operations. The chosen applicant will be well-versed in accounting practices and have good judgment.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and oversee the entire audit cycle, taking into account risk management and control measures for operational efficacy, financial stability, and adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
- Establish the scope of the internal audit and create yearly plans.
- Acquire, examine, and assess flowcharts, data, prior reports, and accounting paperwork.
- Create and provide reports that summarize the audit’s findings and procedure.
- chief consultant on all enterprise audit matters to the board of directors and management.
- Serve as an impartial, unbiased source of guidance to guarantee the attainment of objectives, legitimacy, and legality.
- Find weaknesses and suggest cost-cutting and risk-aversion strategies.
- Keep lines of communication open with the audit committee, TCJE’s board, and management.
- Create a memo outlining the audit findings and document the process.
- Perform follow-up audits to keep an eye on the actions taken by management.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration from an accredited college or university.
- Possessing a globally recognized accounting credential, such as the ACCA, CPA (T), or CFA.
- Three (3) or more years of experience as an internal auditor in the workforce.
- Advanced proficiency with databases, MS Office, and accounting software.
- The capacity to generate comprehensive reports and work with vast volumes of data.
- Solid familiarity with legal requirements, auditing standards and practices, and other legal minutia.
- Strong analytical abilities and a keen eye for detail.
- Sound judgment on your own.
- Strong communication abilities in Swahili and English, both written and spoken.
- Must be at least 30 years old when submitting an application.
