Open Positions and Description:
1. Legal Officer
JOB OBJECTIVES
- Provide legal help and guidance during all transaction talks.
- Advice on all legal concerns arising from current agreements and new legal documents.
- Providing legal advice on financial and legal difficulties that may emerge with bank products.
- Prepare and generate periodic legal reports for the Legal Division.
- Attend meetings to provide legal assistance and advice when asked by business departments.
- Providing legal guidance on many issues that influence the bank, its clients, and accessible goods.
- Conduct periodic reviews and recommendations on the bank’s policies to guarantee compliance with legal and financial regulatory obligations.
- Supervise the secure keeping of all collateral papers for Bank-granted facilities.
KEY PERFORMANCE
- Error rate/noncompliance with financial legislation
- When asked for legal advice or opinions, the turnaround time is as follows.
- Timeliness in preparing several agreements (facility agreements,
- Loan agreements, for example, may include contract preparation and approval.
- Effectiveness at completing given tasks.
- Efficiency in completing scheduled and ad hoc jobs.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor of Law – LL. B (Hons). Must be a licensed lawyer with the Tanganyika Law Society.
Requirements: At least 3 years of legal experience, including 2 years as a legal officer in banking.
