Requirements:
- possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, or be enrolled in a first-year university program, and have successfully finished one academic year;
- be enrolled in a postgraduate course of study leading to a master’s degree or above;
- possess the previously mentioned university degree and, in the event that they are chosen, must begin the internship within a year following graduation; or
- Participate in the internship as a requirement of your postgraduate professional trainee program.
- Show that you’re interested in the development field;
- Show written and spoken fluency in the official language of the UNFPA office (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish), as well as competency in at least one of the working languages of the UN (French or English); and
- Show that you have the flexibility to adjust to new situations and the capacity to build and maintain positive working relationships with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
An internship with UNFPA is not available to anyone whose brother, sister, father, mother, son, or daughter works for the organization.

Financial Support:
A stipend is available to interns who do not get funding from another source (such as the government, university, or academic institution) to help with living expenses. The intern’s agreed-upon place of employment determines the stipend; in the event of remote work agreements, this location may differ from the hiring office’s duty station. Normally, the stipend is paid at the end of each month in local currency.
