Wasoko is a marketplace used by tens of thousands of unofficial shopkeepers in seven countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Zambia) to acquire daily necessities and obtain working capital funding.
This is Wasoko’s chance. Wasoko is in the best position to develop the technology-enabled rails to service the more than 1 billion African consumers through informal retailers because of its name, size, and logistics network. In order to help communities throughout Africa obtain more for less, we are developing an operating system for informal retailers that is digital first. Initially, we will concentrate on B2B distribution, but we will swiftly add additional tools and services as well.
Responsibilities:
- As a leader, you excel. Making sure that every branch logistics staff has the tools they need to complete their tasks should be your top concern. 110 percent of the time
- Ascertain that the business has visibility into the branch’s performance and that operational KPIs are met and exceeded.
- Provide a solid foundation of managers and associates to assist the ground operations team in managing all incoming and outgoing workflows in compliance with Wasoko network policies, protocols, and delivery SLAs.
- Inform important stakeholders about the limitations of the fulfillment center to guarantee that inventory capacities are completely aligned to minimize overstocks, out-of-stocks, and deadstock.
- Maintain a close eye on performance and establish a feedback loop with 3P vendors, particularly Transport, to make sure that important business metrics and network standards are followed.
Requirements:
- Capacity to mentor, guide, and develop staff
- Outstanding analytical and organizational abilities
- Aggressive, focused, and a realistic problem solver
- The capacity to manage several projects and operate autonomously
- You possess extensive understanding of both transportation (last-mile fulfilment, 3P vehicle management, etc.) and last-mile logistics (inventory management and ERP procedures; prior experience working with Manhattan and/or Loginext is highly recommended).
- Extensive knowledge of the logistics and transportation sectors with a minimum of five years’ experience. Outstanding financial sense and comprehension of cost effectiveness
- A degree in business operations, supply chain management, transportation and logistics, business administration, or a related field. or a master’s degree in a related discipline combined with work experience in the logistics sector.
