The Project Manager is in charge of carrying out project management duties within the Country Program in accordance with defined standards and procedures, under the supervision of the Regional Manager. The candidate for this role must live close to the Dodoma regional office. Travel to project/field locations will be necessary for this role on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
- Keep up a powerful Christian testimony and serve as an example of servant leadership for coworkers, volunteers, contributors, and the general public.
- Recognize, uphold, and foster Water Mission’s vision, mission, and values.
- To determine the target communities and their needs, carry out feasibility studies and needs assessments.
- Create project plans that include the goals, objectives, tasks, schedules, and resources needed for the project.
- Using Water Mission project management software systems, oversee the project management of all assigned projects by monitoring the task scope, schedule, and budget.
- Organize the distribution of the labor, tools, and supplies required to complete the job.
- While employees, outside contractors, and volunteers are working on designated projects, provide them guidance and support.
- Assist assigned projects with on-site project management as needed.
- Determine possible hazards and create ways for mitigating them.
Qualifications:
- Intimate and developing bond with Jesus Christ.
- Alignment with the tenets of love, excellence, and integrity included in the Water Mission Statement of Faith.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in construction management, mechanical, chemical, water, or civil engineering, or project management.
- Two years of experience in community development or water and/or wastewater engineering.
- Practical knowledge of project execution.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Familiarity with project management software.
- Strong communication abilities both in writing and speaking (Swahili and English are the preferred languages).
- Outstanding managerial, planning, monitoring, and analytical abilities.
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic who shows initiative.
- Capacity and eagerness to go.
