WaterAid established an internal audit function inside the Global Assurance Team. Internal Audit conducts audits, including partner organization audits, in the UK, other WaterAid Federation Member Countries, and WaterAid Country Programs. In addition, Internal Audit offers management advice on matters pertaining to governance, control, and risk management. The Chief Executive receives direct reports from the independent internal audit function.

1. Internal Auditor M-12
About You:
- Integrity, sensitivity, persistence, and honesty
- Proficiency and comprehension in risk-based auditing methodologies
- Strong analytical, financial, and numerical skills, as well as a flair for financial management and budgeting
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and risk management
- Strong interpersonal and report-writing abilities, with either native or highly proficient English as a professional language
- Self-assured in speaking with trustees and managers at all levels
- Outstanding organizational and time management abilities, as well as the capacity to balance several tasks and adhere to deadlines
- High level of IT literacy
- Exceptional interpersonal abilities and a track record of working across cultural boundaries
- A readiness to travel and the capacity to operate autonomously under minimal guidance.
Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- An accredited member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA) or a professional accounting certificate recognized by the Consultative Committee of Accounting Bodies (CCAB)
- Possessing prior experience in the INGO sector
- Ability to audit with proficiency utilizing data analytics methods
- Credentials and/or prior experience investigating fraud
- Proficiency in Portuguese or French
- And/or fluency in the languages of South Asia or Africa from nations where WaterAid operates.
