Location: The position will be based in the UK or one of the following nations where WaterAid operates, if the applicant is eligible to work in that nation. Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, and South Africa

In the UK, we provide hybrid working. At least 40% of working hours are spent in person at a WaterAid office. WaterAid is based in Canary Wharf, London, and will serve as your contract base and location for employees based in the UK.

Pay & perks: Pay and perks will range between nations based on the location and expertise of the selected individual. If based in the UK: £48,314–£50,729 with great benefits, or a comparable established grade F income and benefits in the place of work.

Responsibilities:

  • A consistent track record of professional advancement that demonstrates a strong technical and operational background in one or more areas of the provision of sanitation and water supply services, as well as an understanding of asset management and infrastructure, resilience, sustainability, and other interrelated topics pertaining to sanitation and water services in urban, rural, and low-income settings.
  • Considerable expertise creating strategic alliances while showcasing strong networking and negotiating abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of change management and organizational development procedures, preferably in a utility setting.
  • A post-graduate degree that is pertinent or comparable job experience.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for strategic thought and leadership.
  • Strong track record of providing technical support, consultancy, and/or advising services to build capacity and empower people.

Qualifications:

  • Technical expertise relevant to the strengthening of systems, sustainable development, health, gender, inclusion, hygiene, and/or other WASH-related issues.
  • Knowledge of strategies and methods used by the public and commercial sectors to provide efficient and long-lasting WASH services.
  • Proficiency in French, Portuguese, Spanish, or any other language commonly spoken in the nations where WaterAid operates.
