Open Positions and Description:

1. Temporary Appointment: Nutrition Specialist, P3, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Under a Temporary Appointment contract, the UNICEF Tanzania Country Office is seeking a P3 Nutrition Specialist with a base in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

  • The Chief of Nutrition will provide general direction and oversight to the Nutrition Specialist.
  • The chosen candidate will oversee the Early Childhood Nutrition and Nutrition Governance outputs of the Nutrition section.
  • They will also be in charge of overseeing the implementation, monitoring, assessing, and reporting on the program’s progress in the governance and early childhood nutrition sectors.

2. International Consultant – Review of UNICEF Technical Assistance Approach in Tanzania (2 Months)

To examine UNICEF’s technical assistance approach in Tanzania, the UNICEF Office in Tanzania is looking to hire an outside consultant. Launched in June 2022, UNICEF’s current country program focuses on health, nutrition, education, child protection, HIV/AIDS, WASH, and social policy. At the center of the curriculum are cross-sectoral issues related to early childhood and adolescents.

  • This entails spearheading digitalization initiatives to enhance emergency communications and behavior modification, making sure these projects have strategic value, and assisting in the wide-scale participation and optimization of SBC campaigns and resources like the Cranky Uncle Vaccine game.
  • Under the direction of the SBC Manager, the consultant will focus on strategic innovation, engagement, and sustainability while leading and amplifying digital SBC activities through IoGT and other digital media.

4. National Digital Health Consultant, Zanzibar, Tanzania (32 Months)

Three national experts in the field of digital health are being sought for by UNICEF Tanzania. The MoH is seeking technical support to operationalize its Digital Health Strategy through this consulting. By improving the skills of the employees in the MOH’s Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) Department and maximizing the use and functionality of digital health information systems, UNICEF will fortify Zanzibar’s digital health ecosystem through this consulting.

  • In the end, the consultants’ technical support will increase the ICT Department of the MOH’s ability to fortify the digital health ecosystem, employ digital solutions for quality enhancement, and institutionalize the usage of client feedback mechanisms.
  • Completing these tasks is essential in order to complete the operationalization of the 2020–2025 Digital Health Strategy.
  • The Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) Unit of the Ministry of Health (MOH) will mainly use the deliverables produced by this consultation to lead the course of the health system digitalization project.
