In order to ensure the effective implementation of the Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) as outlined in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annexes, the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) was established by the enactment of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority Act 2003 Cap 80 (R.E 2006). The Authority is also in charge of economically policing the actions of individuals and organizations who offer aeronautical airport services and air transportation services. The Authority also offers air navigation services in upper Rwanda and Burundi, as well as in the United Republic of Tanzania.

The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS), acting on behalf of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), is seeking dynamic, proactive, experienced, and suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the nine (9) open positions listed below.

Open Positions and Description:

1. Aerodrome and Ground Aids Developmental Inspector (Civil) – 2 POSTS

  • To carry out directed safety inspection of airports, such as aerodrome certification and licensing;

2. Airworthiness Developmental Inspector (Mechanical) – 1 POST

  • To help enforce regulatory requirements and notify the supervisor of any inadequacies;

3. Airworthiness Developmental Inspector (Avionics) – 1 POST

  • To help enforce regulatory requirements and notify the supervisor of any inadequacies;

4. Air Navigation Technician II – 5 POSTS

  • To assist in performing maintenance on CNS/ATM equipment;


  1. A current Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a valid email address, phone number, postal address, and postcode must be attached by applicants.
  2. Every applicant needs to be a Tanzanian citizen.

  7. An applicant must upload a recent Passport Size Photo in the Recruitment Portal.
  8. A candidate working for the Public Service should send his application letter via his workplace.
  9. An applicant should not apply if they are retired from the public service for whatever reason.
  10. The application should list three credible references along with their trustworthy connections.
  11. The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) should verify certificates from international examination bodies for either Ordinary or Advanced level education.
  12. The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) should verify professional diplomas from foreign universities and other training institutions.
  13. A signed letter of application should be sent to the Secretary, Presidents Office, Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, in either Swahili or English.
