Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC)

The Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) is a Regulatory Commission established under the Atomic Energy Act No. 7 of 2003. The Commission has been mandating to regulate and supervise the use of Atomic Energy and Nuclear Technology so as to protect workers, patients the public and the environment from harmful effects of both Ionizing and Non-Ionizing Radiation.

Open Positions and Description:

1. Research Assistant (Engineering) – 3 POSTS

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To support the completion of research tasks like writing proposals, gathering and analyzing data, and publishing research findings
  2. To support the construction and upkeep of linkages, write fundable research proposals, and other activities that will help attract research money
  3. To support the creation and implementation of training programs aimed at transforming individuals into qualified experts in fields including nuclear technology, atomic energy development and practical applications, and the use of radiation sources and radiation precautions;
  4. To support the provision of consulting services
  5. To support the execution of Atomic Energy tasks pertaining to nuclear research and technology, regulation, or the promotion of radiation usage for peaceful purposes.
  6. To carry out any additional tasks that your supervisor may assign you.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a bachelor’s degree from any accredited higher education institution with at least an upper second class in any of the following disciplines: microelectronic engineering, electronics sciences, electronic engineering, mechatronics, biomedical engineering, telecommunication engineering, or equivalent credentials.

2. Research Assistant (Biotechnology) – 1 POST

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To support the completion of research tasks like writing proposals, gathering and analyzing data, and publishing research findings
  2. Help in obtaining funding for research by engaging in a variety of actions, such as drafting research proposals that are financially feasible and establishing and maintaining connections
  3. To support the creation and implementation of programs aimed at educating individuals to become qualified experts in fields including nuclear technology, atomic energy development and practical applications, and the use of radiation sources and radiation precautions;
  4. To support the provision of consulting services
  5. To support the execution of Atomic Energy tasks pertaining to nuclear research and technology, regulation, or the peaceful use of radiation.
  6. To carry out any additional tasks that your supervisor may assign you

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a bachelor’s degree with at least an upper second class in any of the following disciplines: agriculture; biotechnology (with a focus on plant or crop biotechnology); or equivalent training from any accredited university.

Salary Scale: PRSS 1

GENERAL CONDITIONS
