Churches and Christian groups in Norway have required that Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), a diaconal institution, engage with people worldwide to end poverty and injustice. In Tanzania, NCA primarily collaborates with faith-based organizations to support marginalized and impoverished people in their fights for social and economic justice as well as to preserve human dignity and advance human rights.

Programs that Norwegian Church Aid implements are in line with the organization’s worldwide vision, Tanzanian citizens’ needs, and the development objectives of the Tanzanian government. The main goals of NCA are to combat inequality, improve agricultural productivity in the face of climate change, increase market access, ensure gender justice, and develop interfaith civil society and social cohesion. Dynamic, seasoned drivers and logistics assistants are needed by NCA to support our country program in Tanzania.

Responsibilities:

  • Make that the cars are maintained in accordance with the set NCA safety and security standards, are roadworthy, and are in excellent operating order.
  • Adhere to NCA policy when operating NCA vehicles, which includes meeting and dropping off passengers at designated sites and carrying approved passengers and luggage up to the vehicle’s capacity and permitted speed.
  • observance of additional procedures and recommendations in addition to NCA safety and security standards.
  • Make sure the fuel and maintenance tracker has the most recent data.
  • Make sure that cars receive regular, high-quality maintenance, and that any mechanical issues are reported for authorized repairs or replacement of parts.
  • Assist the Operations Lead and Procurement in overseeing the organization’s assets by making sure that office supplies are operational.
  • Assist with Purchasing and Operations Take the lead in obtaining quotes from pre-approved vendors, following up, and delivering orders that have been approved.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, tag every asset in the Country Office, and conduct asset verifications as necessary in collaboration with the Procurement and Operations Lead.
  • Help with Operations and Procurement oversee the preparation of gasoline expense reports and fuel reconciliation.
  • Assist the procurement and operations lead with administrative tasks, such as keeping records and creating reports.

Qualifications:

  • Either occupational training with an NIT Advanced Driving Certificate or minimum secondary school (Form IV Certificate)
  • Currently valid driver’s license and spotless driving history
  • More than five years of driving experience in Tanzania and two years of logistical experience
  • Show that you know how to fix motor vehicles.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
  • Good familiarity with computer programs, particularly Word and Excel from Microsoft.
  • Basic knowledge of car maintenance and repair
  • Strong time-management, multitasking, and organizing abilities
  • Capacity to function both alone and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of working in underprivileged communities and in multiethnic and diverse teams.
  • Commitment to protecting children and other vulnerable populations, as well as understanding them.
  • Personal dedication to becoming a dependable, truthful, and trustworthy team player.
