must keep an eye on all reinsurance agreements, including facultative and treaty reinsurance cover, that the company writes for each class of business in accordance with its operating manuals.
Responsibilities:
- To carry out standard administrative tasks related to reinsurance, like keeping records.
- To provide status reports on payments in order to validate and handle payments for reinsurance firms.
- To arrange and compile reinsurance reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- To precisely record reinsurance information.
- To handle different reinsurance registers, reconcile premium billing statements, and calculate WHT taxes.
- To offer reinsurance advice to the underwriting, claims, and finance departments.
- Introduce the Reinsurance product to new hires.
Required roles:
- To evaluate the risks taken and make sure they are appropriately yielded
- To get all underwriting data needed in order to submit the risk to the reinsurance market.
- To set the appropriate reinsurance cover as needed
- To oversee the reinsurance activities’ management
- To oversee the timely filing of accounting and closure paperwork, as well as the payment of premiums and the collection of claims from reinsurers
- To keep reinsurance contracts accurate by referring to the original terms at which the insurance was accepted
- To keep effective channels of communication open between the business and brokers
- To regularly prepare claims data and underwriting for reinsurance and update it in accordance with requirements.
- To examine reinsurance premium, commissioning, and claim payments and recoveries.
Qualification:
- Bachelor of Science (B): Actuarial Studies and Mathematics (Required).
