Assessing and reducing possible credit risks related to loan activities carried out by the Trust is the responsibility of the Senior Manager – Credit Risk. In order to defend the financial interests of the Trust, the position holder will be in charge of evaluating credit data and financial information, implementing risk management rules and procedures, and deciding whether to approve or deny credit applications.
Responsibilities:
- Create and put into effect policies and processes for credit risk management that adhere to best practices and legal requirements.
- Examine and evaluate credit applications, assessing applicants’ creditworthiness and choosing suitable loan terms.
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of credit risk, encompassing financial analysis, industry risk assessment, and collateral assessment.
- Keep an eye on the lending portfolio to spot any trends or possible hazards, and act quickly to reduce any risks that are found.
- Assure adherence to credit policy and risk appetite by reviewing and recommending credit offers to the designated authority. It is imperative that applications are properly reviewed before being approved in order to limit the Trust’s default rate to no more than 5%.
- Work together with several departments, including finance, risk and compliance, internal audit, business development, and internal audit.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or a similar discipline.
- An extra benefit is having a master’s degree or a professional certification (such PRM, FRM, or CRM).
- A minimum of seven(7) years’ experience, ideally in the financial services sector, in credit risk management or a similar profession.
- A proven track record of success in risk assessment and risk management technique use.
- Familiarity with financial analysis software, credit rating methods, and regulatory compliance specifications.
- Prior expertise in credit quality assessment and portfolio management across a range of market sectors and businesses.
