Private Agriculture Sector Support Trust (PASS Trust)

This cutting-edge agri-finance development organization enhances the standard of living for small-scale agribusiness owners. For Tanzanian agribusiness owners, PASS Trust makes it easier for them to obtain financial and business development services. Focus areas include farming, crop trading, agri processing, livestock, mechanization, irrigation, beekeeping, horticulture, aquaculture, transportation, input trading, etc.

Under the direction of the Director of Business Development, the Senior Manager of Business Development is responsible for fostering business growth, managing credit guarantee risks for the Trust and its portfolio, providing a positive customer experience, and overseeing client account relationships with partner institutions.


  • Maintain the Credit Guarantee Portfolio’s quality to the necessary level.
  • Help the director of business development prepare reports and presentations for the board that pertain to business.
  • Establish suitable Credit Guarantee underwriting to ensure the quality of the portfolio.
  • Maintain good communication with the HQ Lending institution relationships.
  • Work in tandem with the Human Resources Office to support Zonal Officers in becoming capable leaders and trainers.
  • Establish the Zonal Offices to make sure they promote Inclusive Green Growth (IGG) practices to clients and affiliated banks, taking into account the working environment of the Trust. Practice is required for all IGG robust features.
  • Plan the Trust’s commercial operation program in close collaboration with the Director of commercial Development, taking into account the yearly business plan and the overall company strategy, and making sure that the key performance metrics

Key Competences:

  • Strong comprehension and in-depth knowledge of agricultural loan concepts, products, and market dynamics, both in Tanzania and globally.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to establish relationships and sway important parties.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on achieving goals and a history of meeting company expansion objectives.
  • Outstanding negotiating abilities and the capacity to handle intricate partnership and contract frameworks.
  • Analytical mentality with the capacity to compile and decipher market data, spot trends, and arrive at informed conclusions.
  • Strong leadership skills and background in managing and inspiring teams to accomplish shared objectives.
  • Proven track record of creating and implementing profitable business development plans in the agriculture industry.


  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business administration, finance, agricultural economics, or a similar discipline.
  • It is preferable to have professional training in project management, sales, or business development.
  • Having a master’s degree, such as an MBA, is advantageous.
