The National Independent Electoral Commission is continuing with the process of improving the Permanent Voters’ Register. According to the Presidential, Parliamentary, and Councilors Election Law number 2 of the year 2024, rule 12, subsection 1(b – f), they announce to the applicants who have been selected for the positions of Writers Assistants and Operators of biometric equipment for the improvement of the Permanent Voters’ Register to arrive on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 1:00 AM in the hall of Kigoma Ujiji Municipality for the interview for the positions they applied for.

In the previous announcement, the details are as follows: According to a notification made by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Director of Elections, the Commission plans to hold by-elections for Members of Parliament in many constituencies. In order to carry out this task, the Commission advertises job openings for officials to oversee the exercise. These job positions are listed below:
1. Election Supervisor
2. Assistant Election Supervisor at the Constituency Level
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise election activities in the designated district.
- Supervise and monitor the performance of election officials under their charge.
- Keep election materials secure in the appropriate district.
- Manage the usage of election funds.
- Collaborate and consult with the Election Coordinator to ensure that election operations are completed efficiently.
- Provide progress reports on election phases in accordance with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s directives.

Qualifications
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Must be a public servant.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree, advanced diploma, diploma, or certificate in any subject.
- Must be a resident of the specified district.
- Must be honest and reliable.
- Must be willing to work hard and able to work without direct supervision.
- Must have experience with elections or voter registration.
- Must not have been convicted of a disciplinary or criminal infraction and sentenced to more than six months in prison within the previous five years.
- Must not have been the leader of a political party during the last five years.
Each candidate should describe the post for which they are applying and attach their personal information (CV), including the name of the institution they work for and their present position. The deadline for applications is May 7, 2024, at 3:30 pm.
