Responsibilities:

1. Manages full P&L Of the Region.

  • Strategically focused; capable of defining and putting Airtel’s possibilities into action; has a strong grasp of the integrated suite of goods and services that make up the GSM company and Airtel Money portfolio.

2. Act as a key representative/liaison of Airtel Tanzania Plc within the region with Key stakeholders.

  • Delivering results, setting clear and challenging objectives; collaborative and involving in his/her approach; negotiating and influencing stakeholders to obtain preferential positioning for his/her activities; able to see the big picture while also ensuring the smallest details are accounted for; making unpopular decisions as needed.
  • Customers come first: pays attention to and comprehends their demands. Examines service levels and assesses the viability and profitability of the offering. ensures that the team is delivering on the needs of the customers.

3. Manages a diverse Portfolio within region, directly or indirectly, across marketing, sales, emerging markets, technology, safety & human resources.

  • Handling a dynamic environment eager to learn, inquisitive, and curious;
  • Possesses a passion for information. consistently proposes fresh concepts and fixes.
  • Analytical, capable of following a logical thought process and viewing situations from several angles.

4. Develop strong competitor footprint in area of operation

6. Ensure that we build and maintain a strong network position within the region.

7. Drive Cross Functional Collaboration

Qualifications:

  • A business, sales, or marketing degree, or comparable experience in business or sales management.
  • Having an MBA is beneficial.

Relevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)

  • Nine years of marketing, commercial, and strategic experience
  • An added benefit is strategy articulation experience.
  • Understanding of strategy concerns and approaches to problem solving, as well as experience in mobile telecoms or related industries.

  • Specialized understanding of the value chain for networks, sales, and distribution in addition to business management in a commercial setting

Other requirements (Behavioral etc.)

  • Superb negotiating abilities with a track record of closing new company pitches.

  • Familiarity with answering official requests for proposals and RFPs from major brands.
  • Capacity to oversee and monitor the sales funnel and lead creation.
