With its headquarters located in Arusha, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) is a faith-based organization that was founded on June 19, 1963. The ELCT’s goal is to offer everyone comprehensive care. The Deputy Secretary Generals (DSG) for Mission and Evangelism, Social Services and Women’s Works, Planning and Development, and Finance and Administration support the ELCT Secretary General in providing management and leadership oversight.

To serve Kizazi Hodari Northeastern Zone (KHNEZ) Activity’s overall communication needs, under the direction of the Associate Director of External Affairs and Communication. They will be in complete charge of the planning, recording, and suitable packaging of the project’s success and will assist in its distribution through a variety of communication channels.

Report to: Associate Director of Communication and External Affairs

Duty Station: Arusha

Responsibilities:

Content Creation: conceive and produce eye-catching visual content, such as images, graphics, and videos, that complements our brand identity and goals for various uses.
Filmmaking and photography: Take and process captivating images and movies that convey a message for a variety of uses, such as campaigning, project videos, event coverage, and success story profiling.
Design: Create eye-catching designs for print and digital assets, including infographics, banner ads for websites, social media graphics, and marketing collateral.
Social Media Management: Create and put into action social media plans to raise awareness of projects, foster audience growth, and enhance participation across a variety of social media platforms, including X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and others.
Content Scheduling: To optimize reach, impact, and engagement, plan and schedule social media posts using scheduling tools. This will ensure consistent and timely content delivery.
Analytics and Reporting: Monitor media analytics, assess post performance, and create consistent reports to gauge the success of content strategy and social media campaigns.
Storyboarding and Planning: Work together as a team to generate concepts, create storyboards, and schedule the creation of content in order to fulfill project goals and deadlines.
Equipment management is the process of making sure that cameras, lights, and audio equipment used in photography and videography are properly maintained and operated.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in mass communication, photography, design, film production, multimedia, or a similar subject is desired.
Three (3) years of minimum experience, preferably gained in a non-governmental organization.
Demonstrated expertise in content creation or a related field, along with a robust portfolio displaying design, photography, and videography abilities.
Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite and other pertinent programs for creating content.
Strong grasp of the fundamentals of lighting, composition, and editing in photography and cinematography.
Imaginative thinker with strong narrative and visual communication abilities.
Strong time-management and organizing skills, as well as the capacity to multitask and set priorities for assignments.
Capacity to operate both individually and cooperatively in a hectic setting.
