International Peace Institute (IPI)

For a full-time, paid internship lasting six months, beginning in June 2024, IPI is looking for competent candidates to join its communications team. For IPI, this intern will assist with content creation and publication for the website and social media.

The intern will work with the International Peace Institute Communications Team, which is in charge of managing the organization’s social media accounts and all online content for both the IPI and Global Observatory websites. Through on-the-job training, the intern will acquire information and abilities, and IPI staff will support and encourage their growth.

Throughout the six-month internship, the chosen applicant will be required to work in a hybrid manner (both electronically and in person for all events and certain meetings). The candidate must be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, which is the usual business hour of IPI.

Responsibilities:

Help in writing content for websites, including research and copywriting;
Create content for the IPI & Global Observatory social media channels and assist with their upkeep;
Conduct outreach on social media and seek for fresh chances;
Aid with the upkeep of the online style guide;
Research under the Communications Team’s direction; and
Additional tasks that the supervisor designates.

Qualifications:

International affairs as a concentration or degree for a BA or MA;
Demonstrated familiarity with multinational organizations;
Proven proficiency in writing about international relations;
The capacity to write for social media and the internet;
technologically astute, has a solid understanding of social media and online usability;
Outstanding oral and interpersonal communication abilities;
Outstanding attention to detail and organizing abilities; and
The capacity to collaborate with others in a dynamic setting;

Compensation:

The internship in website/social media writing is 40 hours per week, full-time, and pays $16.00 per hour.
