Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) is the National airline of Tanzania, carrying with it the national treasure and pride of Mt Kilimanjaro as its slogan – ‘The Wings of Kilimanjaro’. Based in Dar es Salaam, with its hub at the modern state of the art Julius Nyerere International Airport out of Terminals II and III. The airline is IOSA certified and a proud member of IATA. ATCL has been a member of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) since its establishment in 1977 following the dissolution of East African Airways.

Therefore, applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians to fill the following positions: –

Open Positions and Description:

1. Receptionist II – 1 POST

Minimum Entry Qualifications

  • Holder of a Certificate of Secondary Education with passes in English and Swahili.
  • They must have attended training in one of the following; Telephone Operation or Front Office Course.
  • Must be conversant with basic computer applications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds to incoming calls
  • Calls inside the exchange area are connected.
  • Makes reservations and looks them up as needed
  • Where necessary, maintain safe custody of office property;
  • Attest to the cleanliness of the entire office space.
  • Carry out any additional official tasks that the supervisor may designate.

2. Human Resources Officer II – 1 POST

Minimum Entry Qualifications

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: business administration/commerce with a human resources management concentration, industrial relations, public administration, human resources management, human resources planning and management, manpower planning, or equivalent training from accredited institutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help with staff issues involving internal transfers, promotions, and confirmation of hiring and selection
  • Aid in the creation of the induction and orientation programs
  • Gather, examine, and maintain employment records
  • Help with the creation of performance reports and gather and maintain employees’ personal information
  • Help with the assessment of training needs.
  • Help with the interpretation of the employee-related Acts, staff regulations, and service plans.
  • Help with staff attendance tracking on a regular basis and make recommendations for ways to address persistent issues with attendance.
  • In coordination with the procurement unit, follow up on all office requirements.
  • Create the staff leave roster.
  • Carry out any additional tasks that the supervisor may designate.

3. Driver II – 4 POSTS

Minimum Entry Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Class “Cl or E” Class “Driving License,” a Form IV Certificate, and have completed the VETA Basic Driving Course or any other accredited institution. Must also have at least one (1) year of accident-free driving experience. An extra benefit is having Trade Test Grade 11 or Professional Level II in Motor Vehicle Maintenance/Mechanics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow traffic laws when driving employees to authorized locations.
  • Bring cars that need regular maintenance or repairs to the designated service representatives.
  • Make small mechanical repairs.
  • Keep logbooks up to date and document every movement as directed.
  • Before leaving, perform a pre-inspection on the designated cars and report any mechanical issues or flaws.
  • Verify the car’s cleanliness and safety at all times.
  • Make sure that the necessary permissions and paperwork are obtained before starting any travel.
  • Carry out any additional tasks that the supervisor may designate.

4. Administrative Officer II – 1 POST

Minimum Entry Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in one of the following is required: public administration, human resources management, manpower planning, human resources planning and management, industrial relations, business administration or commerce with a human resources management concentration, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Starts the process of updating a thorough, accurate inventory of all office furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Sversees the work of hired private service providers to guarantee the quality of services, including office cleaning, security guards, ground maintenance, and catering.
  • Guarantees the effective operation of ATCL’s administrative transport services.
  • Makes certain that office supplies and other apparatus are kept in good working order.
  • Oversees the work that support employees like messengers, drivers, and office assistants do.
  • Keeps track of vehicle upkeep and checks the logbooks of the cars.
  • Keep an eye on the office’s cleanliness.
  • Carries out any other official tasks that the immediate Supervisor may designate.
