SAUT Undergraduate Entry Requirements
In addition to meeting the additional entry requirements unique to each academic program, candidates who intend to enroll in one of the several undergraduate degree and non-degree programs at St. Augustine University of Tanzania must also meet the general minimum entrance requirements. In addition to fulfilling the standards of the accepting university, whose decision is final, candidates applying for programs under the IUCEA Students’ Exchange Program must also complete the entrance requirements for comparable programs at the St. Augustine University of Tanzania.

General Minimum Entrance Requirements
If an applicant meets any of the following requirements, they will be given preference for admission to St. Augustine University of Tanzania’s first-degree program:
1. Prior to taking the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or its equivalent, candidates must have passed the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or its equivalent, which requires passes in FIVE recognized topics, three of which must be at the Credit level; and
2. The candidate must obtain two principal level passes in appropriate subjects from the A.C.S.E.E. or equivalent, with a total of points from three subjects that do not fall below five (for programs based in the arts) or two (for programs based in science). The conversion scale uses the following grades to points: A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2, E = 1, S = 0.5, and F = 0 points.

3. A suitable equivalent diploma from a college that has been fully approved by the SAUT Senate and fully registered by NACTE, with a minimum grade of B or a credit level. An Upper Second class or B+ average is required for diplomas that are further divided into Upper and Lower classes.
Note: Prior to being considered for admission to St. Augustine University of Tanzania, applicants from nations with 8-4-4 educational systems must finish at least one year of study at a university in their home nations.
4. The Mature Age Entry Examination (MAEE) with a minimum score of 100, which consists of at least 50 in Paper I and 50 in Paper II. The purpose of MAEE was to provide Tanzanian candidates who are extraordinarily well qualified but do not meet the university’s direct/equivalent entry requirements with the option to pursue a first degree at St. Augustine University of Tanzania.
One must be 25 years of age or older on August 1st of the year they are applying for admission in order to be eligible for the MAEE. Moreover, a person must have finished Form VI at least five years prior to September 1st, or they must have received at least three credits in acceptable topics on the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination.
Extra Entrance Requirements: Certain degree programs have additional requirements in addition to the normal minimum entrance requirements.
